The Elder Law Bootcamp is a complimentary, half-day educational program created specifically for financial advisors, insurance professionals, social workers, and other professionals who support older adults and their families. Whether you’re helping clients prepare for the future or assisting families during a crisis, this course will provide practical knowledge and real-world strategies you can immediately apply in your profession.
Presented by Attorney Alan Hougum, an experienced Wisconsin elder law and estate planning attorney, this engaging program explores the legal, financial, and caregiving issues that frequently impact aging individuals and their loved ones. Through practical examples and educational discussion, attendees will gain a better understanding of how proactive planning can help protect assets, preserve independence, and reduce stress for families.
This course is recommended for Social Workers, Financial Advisors, Insurance Professionals, Care Coordinators, Aging Services Professionals and anyone who regularly works with older adults and their families. CE Credit is only available for those listed below, but others are welcome to attend!

Alan L. Hougum grew up in Edgar, Wisconsin, just off of County Road N. He attended undergraduate school at UW-Madison and worked as a forklift driver and textbook salesman in Texas between semesters to pay for school. After graduating cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, he returned to Central Wisconsin to practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Elder Law.
Alan has been practicing law for more than 25 years, and currently resides in Wausau with his wife and two children.
